Review of Art Deco Weekend 2017

For the fifth year in a row, The Miss Art Deco Pageant produced by Beauty Touches Group Productions was part of the 40th annual Art Deco Weekend hosted by Miami Design Preservation League (MDPL) held in Miami Beach. The event takes place year on Ocean Drive from 5th Street to 13th Street with rows of vendors selling vintage jewelry, fashion, art exhibits, and over course the most delicious foods from all over South Florida. During the festivities there were showcasing of classic cars, concerts, the most adorable Arf Deco Dog Parade and contest, and the Retro Fashion Show which included for the first time this year a designer's award contest and the crowning ceremony of the new Miss Art Deco 2017.

Retro-inspired fashions from local designers will be presented on the runway. The featured designers are Joann Chan, Lauren Lessa, Luis Aponte, Molly Kate Cline and Nadiya Shulhan! One talented designer was awarded $500 and a booth at ADW 2018. A special exhibit at the Art Deco Welcome Centre, following the festival, will display these fantastic fashions.

Judges for the designer's award including Henrry Meza of Henrry Meza Designs and Chantel Martinez, national director of Miss Grand United States and Miss Grand Dominican Republic.
